If you are what you eat, what makes up your food? Experiment and learn about the connections between chemistry & nutrition for a meaningful STEM activity.
With this food science chemistry class, students will discover:
How to test for protein
The two types of carbohydrates
Why lipids are greasy
Which foods contain the most vitamin C
Students will love learning about the chemistry behind everyday foods. This food class allows them to perform qualitative DIY tests (indicating presence) for chemical components, such as:
Glucose, a simple carbohydrate
Starch, a complex carbohydrate
Protein, made up of amino acids
Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid

Cancellations made at least 14 days before the class start date are eligible for a full refund.
Partial Refunds:
Cancellations made 10 days before the class start date will receive a 50% refund.
No Refunds:
Cancellations made within 5 days of the class start date are not eligible for a refund.
Class Cancellation by Us:
If the class is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, all participants will receive a full refund.
Transfers:
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another individual or reschedule for a future class (subject to availability).
