This interactive art history course immerses students in the lives and works of some of history’s most influential artists. Each week, students will explore the biography, cultural context, and artistic techniques of a featured artist. From the Renaissance to modern art, students will gain a deeper understanding of art movements and their impact on society.

Highlights of the course include:

  • Weekly Artist Focus: Study a new artist each week, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, or Georgia O’Keeffe, exploring their signature styles and contributions to the art world.

  • Art History Lessons: Dive into the historical and cultural context that shaped each artist’s work.

  • Creative Reproductions: Recreate one of the featured artist’s pieces, learning techniques like perspective, color blending, and brushwork to deepen appreciation and skill.

  • Hands-On Projects: Experiment with various mediums including paint, charcoal, and collage, tailored to each artist's style.

  • Artistic Reflection: Discuss and reflect on the process and how historical art influences modern creativity.
